The Cherry Tree by Rebecca Connor

Volition Poem of the Month

This is the first instalment of Volition Poem of the Month and the chosen poem is by Rebecca Connor, it was written during an outdoor Eco poetry workshop thinking about trees in the cathedral grounds.

Centuries of pain engraved within my bones.
Burls aplenty shows my wear.

Countless hands,
Young and old run their fingers along my grooves.
Cobwebs locked between my ridges.
My roots are large,
