Volition and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are holding an open day on the 17th of May at Thompson Street Fire Station. Volunteers will be able to experience cutting up a vehicle, have a go at CPR training, and get an insight in to how the Fire Service utilises volunteers.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have a number of opportunities available, and it isn’t just firefighting. Other non-uniform job roles are available for example: Pit Team who clean up a house after a fire, Volunteer Community Engagement, Business Safety and Community Safety Advisors, Volunteer Cadet Instructors to name a few.
The Fire Service heavily invests in individual volunteers and lets them choose their pathway within the fire service.
